"Square Footage"

Hi again! Glad to see you back! We know each other well enough to skip the pleasantries by know, don'tcha think? You know, this one is one for the books so let's get to it already, yeah?

Ok, ok so, after five years studying photography, it has all come to th(es)is. Thesis show 2021 was an amazing experience! Seeing my work framed and printed hanging on the wall was overwhelmingly exciting! It's definitely one thing to put my work on here or instagram and for people to see it in passing but to have printed it myself and put so much work in how the physical image is presented then to see it like I did... it was just really amazing and the feeling of accomplishment knocked me over a bit!

My series followed the theme of interior design photography called Square Footage. As I photographed for real estate, I would come across these intriguing and beautiful homes and I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures in the way that I wanted to, instead of just the typical wide-angle interior shots to show the space for resale.

This showcase was full of so many seniors' works and I enjoyed every moment of walking through seeing the work that evolved so much. Knowing these amazing artists these last few years has been an honor and pleasure. I've met so many great people in this photography program and I can't wait to see where they all end up!

I hope you enjoy scrolling through the images and seeing how much love and consideration went into this. I still have to do one more photo class in the fall and then I get my DEGREE??? How did that happen? Who's in-charge of giving me that because there must be some mistake! 🤣Any who, check out the images and let me know what you think! (Scroll down for the artist statement!)

This exhibit is on display at the Southeast Museum of Photography in Daytona Beach until July 31st so check it out, because the work in this showcase will blow your mind!

All in all this was so much fun and I want to do it over again!

Thanks for reading

and

Happy snappin'!
